Donate food
Our foodbank relies on your goodwill and support.
Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious seven day supply of food.
The recent financial crisis and high inflation has seen a dramatic reduction in the level of food donations we are receiving through our collection bins in The Co-op (Wem); Sainsbury’s and Tesco – in some cases down over 20% on the previous year. With individual donations also down considerably this has meant we have been spending up to £800 per month in order to have a sufficient wide range of items to include in the Client’s food parcels.
However, we do want to express our sincere thanks to those who continue to support us financially as this has enabled us to meet the cost of these purchases.
As you will see from our extended shopping list of ‘needed’ items, we have very little ‘long-term stock’ so we are in need of virtually all items.
Your support in helping us meet the need is much appreciated.
