Donations during COVID
A HUGE THANK YOU
The Trustees, Management and all the volunteers associated with the Whitchurch Foodbank wish to thank all those who made donations during the COVID-19 outbreak. The level of financial support was so encouraging. Whether the amount was small or large it was precious to us as we supported those in crisis. As you will imagine the level of need during the outbreak rose massively and our sincere thanks go to all those who offered their time to volunteer with us to meet this need. It has not been possible to take-up all the offers we received and for that we apologise, but maintaining social distancing precluded the involvement of more people. Please accept our thanks for your offer whether or not we were able to accept it.
The financial support we received enabled us to purchase the food needed to replenish our stocks. During lockdown we fed almost 5900 people.
Our thanks also go to all the individuals who made donations – many of whom wish to remain anonymous. However, we wish to record our thanks to the following organisations in order that their clients and members can see the charitable support they have provided.
B & M Commander Ethelston Cup Etzio Ltd Galaxy Computers Grocott Family Maelor South Community Council McColls Muller Foods Sainsburys Severn Trent St Alkmund's Lodge Tesco Welsh Water Wem Rotary Whitchurch Rotary Whitchurch Town Council The three shops in Whitchurch – Fill Your Boots, Moo & Boom and Homefolk, who offered the £100 hamper have raised a staggering £650. A huge thank-you from the Foodbank to them and all who supported this raffle. The money will be used in support of the Christmas parcels distributed to over 140 families in the area. We also much appreciate the support and encouragement from Ali and her team at The Old Factory Shop who have helped us to help the community we support by establishing a collection bin for donations to the Foodbank.
