Aviagen Turkeys donate £1375 to Whitchurch Foodbank
Each year the staff of Aviagen Turkeys of Tattenhall undertake a sponsored event to raise money in support of local charities.  In 2017 they decided that one of their charities would be the Whitchurch Foodbank.
A team of 20 people from Aviagen Turkeys along with friends and families completed a sponsored walk along the Sandstone trail from Beeston to Whitchurch. This 16 ½ mile walk offered superb, unbroken, and often elevated walking across the still largely green and pleasant English county of Cheshire.
The walk started at 8:00am and took 7 hours to complete, finishing the day off with refreshments at a local hostelry.
Alan Scutt – Chairman of the Whitchurch Foodbank said ‘ We are most thankful to the staff and families of Aviagen Turkeys for taking part in the sponsored walk and raising such an amazing sum of money. The donation of £1375 towards the operating costs of the Whitchurch Foodbank is very much appreciated. The Foodbank receives tremendous support with donations of food but like any charity it has operating costs to meet such as rent, utilities, insurance etc. so gifts of this nature are the life blood of our continued operation. We trust those who took part enjoyed the day as much as we have enjoyed receiving the support’.
